FRANZISKANER WEISSBIER 0,5L
Bavarian wheat beer of the Hefeweizen type, top-fermented, naturtrüb (naturally cloudy). Produced by Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu GmbH in Munich, Marsstraße 46-48 - a brewery with a tradition dating back to 1363, now part of the Spaten-Franziskaner-Löwenbräu group, owned by AB InBev. The name "Franziskaner" (Franciscan) comes from the Franciscan monks, and the label retains their silhouette. The brewery produces wheat beer according to the tradition of the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516, using hops and malt from Bavarian regions, yeast from their own culture (Reinzucht), and water from the brewery's own well.
Copper-gold color (kupfergolden), with natural yeast opalescence, typical for a naturtrüb Weißbier. White, abundant, and long-lasting foam. The aroma is harmoniously aromatic and fruity: bananas and citrus stand out, with sweet, malty notes. The taste is fresh, subtly spicy, and fruity, with notes of banana, cloves (phenolic spice), and a hint of refreshing citrus. Due to the higher carbonic acid content, the beer is particularly spritzig and perlend (lively with fine effervescence). Medium body, with a soft, velvety texture. The finish is mild, slightly sweet, with a light bitterness at the end. A balanced beer, the "gold standard" of Munich wheat beer - described in reviews as a "safe bet" of the style.
